Health & Wellness Center Counseling Services

Counseling Services is located in the lower floor of Veronica Hall, in the Health & Wellness Center. Many students find that speaking with an objective third party can assist them in gaining perspective on a current emotional issue. Students frequently find that meeting with our counselor helps them gain confidence in dealing with the day-to-day challenges of college life.

SCREENINGS

If you or someone you know is struggling emotionally, please have them contact the health and wellness office for an appointment. If you are unsure if you want/need to schedule with one of our counselors, please take a confidential online screening. This screening will take only a few minutes to complete and determine whether an appointment should be scheduled. These screenings are free for Alvernia University students.

Active Minds: Alvernia University Chapter

Active Minds is the leading nonprofit organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health to educate others and encourage help-seeking. We are changing the culture on campuses and in the community by providing information, leadership opportunities, and advocacy training to the next generation.

Accessibility Services

Some students with mental illness may require accommodations to allow them equal access to classes, programs, and coursework. Accommodation is the removal of a barrier to full participation and learning. The emphasis is on access, not the outcome. This is done by providing the student with a disability equal access to the

content and activities of a course.

We aim to provide you with the support and encouragement needed to be able to look back on your academic experience with

satisfaction and great pride.
